William “Bill” Kawahalama Aina, 82, of Keaukaha died Sept. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired public schools custodian, worked for Hilo Iron Works, Kamaaina Motors, and Dodo Mortuary Life Plan and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward, Boy Scouts of America, Pukahi District and Troop 7. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Miriam Stevens Aina; sons, Lanceford (Silina) Aina of Kaneohe, Oahu, Troy Aina and Baba Marantan of Hilo; daughters, Kris Aina and Lindsey (Darren) Stevens-Olson of Hilo; brothers, Harry (Linda) Aina of Nevada, Elia Loa and Larry (Toni) Loa of Hilo; sisters, Lucy Kuikahi, Roselani Napeahi and Boopie Aina of Hilo, Thankie Nunnally and Kay (Aaron) Makaiwi of Nevada; sisters-in-law, Luella Aina, JoAnn Loa, Sherry (Herring) Kalua and Annette Stevens of Hilo; brother-in-law, Ned Stevens Jr. of Oahu; a grandson; a great-graudson and great-granddaughter; four hanai grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
