Hawaii County reminds taxpayers operating hotels, vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts and timeshares that the deadline to pay the new 3% Hawaii County Transient Accommodations Tax for guest stays during the month of January is Tuesday, Feb. 22.
Payments that are postmarked on or before Feb. 22 will be considered timely. Those mailed late will be subject to penalties and interest.
Payments may also be made online at www.hawaiicountiestat.us.
Taxpayers will not be required to file a separate return to the county. However, separate payments must be submitted. Additional information about the new HCTAT can be found on our website www.hawaiicounty.gov/tat.
