A ‘gesture to Hilo’

Dear Hawaiian Airlines: Now that you have canceled turboprop service to Molokai and Lanai, but before you send all those planes back to the mainland, would you please keep one of them here on the Big Island?

Airlines, including yours, are ramping back up to pre-COVID levels of service. But most flights between the Big Island and the mainland (as they always have) will go through Kailua-Kona (KOA).

Comparable service via Hilo (ITO) may be impractical. So how about using one of those 40-passenger turboprops for a shuttle service between ITO and KOA?

Two round-trips a day, scheduled to connect with the clusters of arriving and departing overseas flights, should be enough for starters.

That would be a nice gesture to Hilo folks, but it would also be good PR for Hawaiian Airlines.

Storm the gates

The gates of COVID may be opening.

But who is to say when and where it might close ?

We face the demon we don’t know or understand.

The trust we have placed in public agencies is waning.

Meanwhile, the Congress is filled with miscreants and malcontents whose mission is to stay in power and solve nothing!

Why does the population of this land acquiesce to the fools on the Hill?

How is it that social (mis)media has controlled the narrative and steered those to a journey to nowhere?

What does anyone in office stand for? Mostly, preserving the uncivil discourse.

It is time to break from the darkness we have all endured!

The gates are opening, why can’t we see it?

Are we so conditioned to honor the falsehood that we have lost the truth in front of us?

I implore those who hear these words to continue the struggle with stupidity!

Do not surrender your future!

Comprehend a world on the other side of this pandemic wherein all have value, all have respect, all are deserving of a peaceful life not subject to the confines — the gates of Hell — we have all experienced for the last few years!

The emperor of Rome asked the prescient question, “Are we not entertained?”

Didn’t that hollow quest remind us all what bad leadership is? How did we end up here again?!

Is it possible to find a path forward that understands the power and glory of God Almighty, who surely would not accept the status of power and ignorance we all have been exposed to in this pandemic.

The gates of the pandemic are opening. Let us crash through those gates together, and throw off the yoke of negativity!
