John “Skip” Given Liwai, 86, of Waikoloa died March 12 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Koolauloa, Oahu, he was a retired manager for Waikoloa Village Golf Club, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Waikoloa Ward, U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran and former Military Sea Transportation System merchant seaman.
