John “Skip” Given Liwai, 86, of Waikoloa died March 12 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Koolauloa, Oahu, he was a retired manager for Waikoloa Village Golf Club, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Waikoloa Ward, U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran and former Military Sea Transportation System merchant seaman. Celebration of life 9-11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at the family home. Inurnment immediately to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Condolences to: Ruth Liwai, P.O. Box 383142, Waikoloa, HI 96738.
