Former Hawaii Island Adult Care executive director Marcia “Marcie” Saquing was hired as Bay Clinic’s chief operating officer.
Former Hawaii Island Adult Care executive director Marcia “Marcie” Saquing was hired as Bay Clinic’s chief operating officer.
“In her new role, Marcie will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization and execution of our strategic plan,” said Bay Clinic CEO Dr. C. Kimo Alameda. “I look forward to working with Marcie to drive Bay Clinic forward in executing our vision to empower our communities to be healthy and happy.”
Saquing served as HIAC’s executive director for four years. Prior to her new appointment, she was responsible for leading the overall strategy and execution for HIAC’s operations and philanthropic and marketing strategies. Her team successfully secured funding for HIAC programs, contracts with the public sector and did fundraising.
“We are delighted that we have been able to find such a community-minded individual with a host of skills from managing operations to grant writing,” Alameda said. “Marcie has been an integral part of the HIAC team for many years, contributing greatly to the company’s success. Her skills and experience are the perfect fit to take on this position as we move forward.”
Saquing has more than 20 years of experience working in education and nonprofit sectors in Hawaii, and has served on several nonprofit boards in East Hawaii.
She is a member of several service clubs, including the Rotary of South Hilo, and the Hawaii Island and Japanese Chambers of Commerce.
Bay Clinic provides services at 10 locations in East Hawaii from Hilo to Ka‘u and is the only health entity on the island that also offers dental, behavioral health, women’s health, pharmaceutical, pediatric, tobacco cessation and diabetes prevention services and the WIC Program. It serves more than 21,000 patients with approximately 70,000 patient visits a year, and has more than 190 employees.
