Yaeko Yoshioka, 97, of Captain Cook died June 10 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Paauilo, she was a coffee farmer, retired housekeeper for the former Kona Plantation, Kona Surf Hotel and Kona Islander Inn and member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Honaunau Kumiai No. 2. Survived by sons, Glenn Yoshioka of Renton, Wash., Kirk (Melissa) Yoshioka of Hurst, Texas, and Clayton Yoshioka of Captain Cook; daughters, Sandra Yoshioka of Captain Cook and Doreen (Gary) Thorne of Maple Valley, Wash.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
