Leonora R. Baligad, 86, Pepeekeo died May 25 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Waipahu, Oahu, she was a retired clerk at Uncle Billy’s Gift Shop, former employee of Ming’s Jewelry and J.C. Penney, member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, Pepeekeo Senior Club, Aunty Sally’s Seniors and Serenaders, Red Hat Society, Halau O Mailelaulani, Ukulele Mo’ Fun Band and volunteer for Hawaii Police Department, Hilo Downtown Association and was a Grandmother of the Year. Private services. Survived by daughters, Gloria (Richard) Barnett of Tulsa, Okla., Diana Pulgados and Alfreda (Alan Ah Nee) Baligad Rapoza of Hilo, Alicia Stevens of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Angela (Sam) Baligad Kahikina of Pepeekeo; sisters, Philomena (Jo/Mary) Resurreccion Rabago of Hakalau and Florence (Paul) Garcia Brewer of Oak Harbor, Wash.; brother, Antonio (Rose) Baldogo of Wahiawa, Oahu; 17 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

John “Rip” Joseph Repasky, 90, of Kailua-Kona died June 10 at home. Born in New Derry, Pa., he was a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant and retired Federal Aviation Administration electronics technician. Private services at a later date. No flowers. Memorial donations to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. Survived by wife, Barbara Repasky of Kailua-Kona; son, John (Debra) Repasky of Kailua-Kona and Daniel Repasky of Alaska; brother, Paul (Nina) Repasky of Ohio; sister, Antoinette Poyna of Ohio; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Shane Paul Symons, 60, of Kailua-Kona, died June 7 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Santa Rosa, Calif., he was a craftsman and carpenter and volunteer for various community non-profits. Celebration of life in August. Nancy Kawasaki Tanaka, 88, of Walnut Creek, Calif., formerly of Mountain View, died June 8 at home. She was a graduate of Hilo High School and owned and operated a laundry business in Inglewood, Calif., with her late husband Thomas Jiro Tanaka of Keaau. Services at a later date. Survived by daughter, Lenora Merlander; sons, Stefan Tanaka, Thomas Tsugio Tanaka and David Tanaka, their respective spouses; sisters, Charlene Morishige, Sandra Kawasaki and Cheryl Kawasaki; brother, Paul Kawasaki, sister-in-law, Hatsume Tanaka of Keaau; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
