Youth contestants are encouraged to sign up for this year’s 2020 Hawaii County Giant Fruit and Vegetable Contest.
All plants are started for youth.
All the youth contestants need to do is find a location to grow the plants, then water and care for them.
Available plants will include giant pumpkins, giant watermelons, giant tomatoes, giant bushel gourds, long gourds, and giant sunflower (heads).
There is no cost for the plants, but there is a limit.
A special seminar is also scheduled to answer any questions prospective contestants might have about growing giant fruits and vegetables.
To reserve plants, complete the online questionnaire at https://forms.gle/Php4UnmjA8dgCYFn9.
