Hawaii Department of Health Director Bruce Anderson said during a conference call that this is the first time that a case has been confirmed in someone with no known exposure to someone who has traveled. He added that, with evidence of community transmission, he expects case numbers in the state to continue to rise.
The remaining nine new COVID-19 cases were from people with recent travel history, including one child.

According to DoH data, 10 new cases were confirmed in Honolulu since Thursday, and one new case was confirmed on Kauai. There remains only one confirmed case on the Big Island.

As of this morning, there remain 26 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, with one on the Big Island, who is in quarantine.
Two coronavirus test facilities are open on the Big Island at Hilo Medical Center and North Hawaii Community Hospital. These facilities will only test symptomatic individuals who were prescribed the test by a physician.
