Duane De Lima, 72, of Hilo died Feb. 22 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ainaola Ward. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Graveside committal service 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Survived by wife, Luz De Lima of Hilo; sons, Arlen De Lima and Eric (Jolynn) De Lima; brother, Jackie De Lima; sister-in-law, Carol De Lima; two grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Patrick Albert Ferreira, 50, of Santa Rosa, Calif. died Mar. 3 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a 1987 graduate of Waiakea High School and attended Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University where he played collegiate baseball. Hilo celebration of life at a later date. Survived by son, Tyler Ferreira of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; daughter, Jada Ferreira of Lethbridge; brothers, Arnold (Sarah Linfoot) Ferreira of Joseph, Ore., and Carl (Ellen Bugalski) Ferreira of Bakersfield, Calif.; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Virginia “Virgie” Laureta Lorenzo, 71, of Honokaa died Feb. 24 at The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu in Ewa Beach. Born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired laundry supervisor for Hilton Waikoloa Village and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 21) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Helen Hazue Shimizu, 89, of Hilo died Feb. 23 at home. Born in Kailua-Kona, she was a retired bookkepter for Al’s Home &Farm Supply, accounts payable clerk at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Komohana Kumiai. Private services and scattering of ashes held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Lindy (Steve) Belcher of Washington state and Renee (Tom) Stoner of Colorado; son, Marty (Donna) Shimizu of Hilo; brother, Herbert Yamanaka of Oregon; sisters, Elsie Franca of California, Annie Tanaka of Kohala and Lorraine (Mel) Kunishima of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Margie Yamanaka of Honolulu; hanai daughter, Elverta (Dan) Yoshida of Kona; four grandchildren and a great-grandson; nephews, nieces and cousins. Rickie Nelson Tabucbuc, 49, of Hilo died Feb. 16 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paauilo, he was an auto mechanic and tree trimmer. Private services. Survived by children, Rickie K.
