The Volcano Art Centers Hula Voices series continues on Thursday with a program featuring hula and olelo practitioner Leilani Lindsey-Kaapuni with moderator Desiree Moana Cruz. Hula Voices is an oral history project, presenting engaging, intimate talk story sessions with Hawaii Islands hula practitioners and musicians, as they share their hula genealogy, traditions, protocols and experiences.
The Volcano Art Center’s Hula Voices series continues on Thursday with a program featuring hula and ‘olelo practitioner Leilani Lindsey-Ka‘apuni with moderator Desiree Moana Cruz. Hula Voices is an oral history project, presenting engaging, intimate “talk story” sessions with Hawaii Island’s hula practitioners and musicians, as they share their hula genealogy, traditions, protocols and experiences.
Lindsey-Ka‘apuni is a wahine ‘apapalani practitioner and protector of sacred Maunakea. She is a keeper of mo‘oku‘auhau passed down through generations of her family.
These programs take place on the first Thursday of each month, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Park entrance fees may apply.
