KAILUA-KONA — West Hawaii Today reports the Hawaii Police Department’s Special Response Team — the department’s SWAT unit — has been called in and Ahulani Street is closed this morning as police respond to a barricaded suspect at a home in the area.
The incident stared shortly before 9 a.m. The home is located between Kiekie and Hookumu streets in the Kona Coast View subdivision. Ahulani Street is closed at Hookumu Street.
Police said nearby residents have been evacuated.
