Pacita “Pat” Paz Bisquera Bagasane, 88, of Hilo, died Sept. 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired housekeeper for Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private services held. Survived by daughter, Suzanne (Larry) Nakayama of Hilo; brother, Jesus Bisquera of Philippines; a grandson. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

John August Cardoza, 84, of Papaaloa died Sept. 26 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired superintendent for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Hawaii Army National Guard and Reserve veteran. Visitation 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe. Celebration of Life Mass at 9 a.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Burial with military honors 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by wife, Estelita Cardoza of Papaaloa; daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Vinluan of Paauhau, Elizabeth “Lisa” Bal of Waikoloa and Leny (John) Andrade of Ahualoa; sons, Jason (Dareth) Cardoza of Kukaiau, Reuben Baldos of Waikoloa and Ronald “Unad” (Joelei) Nullar-Baldos of Laupahoehoe; sisters, Stella (Anthony) Botelho of Richmond, Calif., and Virginia (Bobby) Gonsalves of Honokaa; brother, Edward (Perla) Cardoza of San Leandro, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Bonny Gale Ichimaru, 61, of Hilo died Sept. 29 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Private services held. Survived by husband, Shinichi Ichimaru of Hilo; sons, Michael Ichimaru and George Ichimaru of Hilo; daughter, Davelyn (Ricardo) Garza of Pepeekeo; mother, Eleanor (David) Gusman of Keaau; brothers, David (Joyce) Prudencio of Hilo and Sydney (Lulu) Prudencio of Keaau; sister, Paula (Joe) Hanohano of Hilo; three grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joyce Setsue Manning 78, of Hilo died May 25 in Las Vegas. Born in Olaa, she was retired from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Department of Agriculture, and a member of Honomu Hongwanji Church. Dean “Uncle Dean” “Naka” Toshio Nakanishi, 63, of Pepeekeo died Sept. 16 at home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the county Department of Public Works Roads Division and a member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by mother, Mildred Nakanishi of Pepeekeo; brother, Wayne (Janet) Nakanishi of Hilo; sisters, Ann (Larry) Monson of Seattle and Ellen (Raymond) Oshiro of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister-in-law, Denise Nakanishi of Hilo; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
