Thomas Kealohaonalani Anakalea, 57, of Hilo died July 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a fuel station attendant with the Safeway gas station. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral services 11 a.m., followed by cremation. Casual attire. Survived by mother, Oinah Anakalea of Hilo; brother, Leonard (Jaime) Anakalea of Wailuku, Maui; an aunt, two nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Eugene “Gene” Allan Gold, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was a retired probation supervisor for the City of Philadelphia, U.S. Army veteran and active member of the acting community in Hilo. Graveside service 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Survived by daughters, Susan (Teva) Var of Hilo and Sharon (Matthew) Boswell of Laupahoehoe; sister, Joan Engleman of Florida; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Kaaka Jack Lowe, 89, of Volcano died July 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in West Palm Beach, Fla., he was a retired teletype operator and U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service 4 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Coreen Lillouise Po‘ookalani Mulkey, 70, of Mountain View died July 30 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a foster parent for Catholic Charities, eligibility worker for Department of Human Services Med-Quest Division and spent many years as security for JCPenney and Liberty House/Macy’s. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Mountain View. Mass service 10 a.m. Memorial and celebration of life Monday, Nov. 11, with details to be announced. Born in Hilo, she was a retired service representative with the former GTE-Hawaiian Tel, co-owner of Hilo Andagi and member of the Ainaola Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Hilo Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
