Keck helps trace cosmic radio waves to distant galaxy

CSIRO/ANDREW HOWELLS An artist's impression of the Australian Square Kilometre Array detecting a fast radio burst and tracing it to its precise location in a distant galaxy. The W. M. Keck Observatory, the Very Large Telescope and Gemini South are also depicted conducting observations of the source galaxy.
CSIRO/ALEX CHERNEY The Milky Way glows above the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder radio telescope.

Astronomers are now able to pinpoint the origin of cosmic radio waves over billions of light years thanks in part to W. M. Keck Observatory on Maunakea.
