Juanita Maria Finkenberg, 68, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 30 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Los Angeles, she was a retired university professor, dance teacher at West Hawaii Dance Academy and choreographer at Aloha Theater. Memorial at sea 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Keauhou Bay, with celebration of life 2-5 p.m. at the Kona Outdoor Circle in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire; loose flowers only for memorial at sea. Memorial donations to Hospice of Kona. Survived by husband, Mel Finkenberg of Kailua-Kona; son, Brian (Virginia) Dotson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; stepdaughter, Amber (Ryan) Esselstrom of Wewoka, Okla.; sisters, Sarah (Robin) De Levita of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Maureen (Artie) Colson of Bakersfield, Calif.; brother, Howard (Rachel) Miles of Camarillo, Calif.; brother-in-law, Barry (Cindy Coats) Finkenberg of Kailua-Kona; sister-in-law, Karen (Larry) Furey of Tillson, N.Y.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Sister Rose Fatima (Vivian) Leite, Order of Saint Francis, 87, of Honolulu died Jan. 16 at St. Francis Convent in Honolulu. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a sister of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities for 67 years. Visitation 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Francis Convent, 2715 Pamoa Road, Honolulu, HI 96822. Gilbert “G.p.” Perry Motta III, 40, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 14 in Kailua-Kona. Born in Ahualoa, he owned Motta Heating and Air Conditioning Services and Da Motta Shak. Celebration of life noon Saturday, Feb. 16, in Waipio Valley, where the river meets the ocean. Casual attire.
