Valentinas Ulinas scored 17 points Thursday night and Michael Hughes added 15 as Hawaii Prep beat Pahoa 68-43 in Waimea to match Waiakea with a 6-0 mark in BIIF boys basketball.
HPA outscored the Daggers (3-6) 18-8 in the second quarter to lead by 10 at halftime, and Ka Makani was in front 50-23 entering the fourth.
Jayden Broad-Melander scored 13 points and Lansen Aranaydo had 10 for the Daggers, who were playing in Waimea for the second consecutive night.
Pahoa edged Parker 39-37 on Wednesday.
In what is shaping up to be the game of the season, Hawaii Prep and Waiakea play Wednesday night on the Warriors’ court.
Girls
Ka’u 54, Keaau 53, OT: Kianie Medeiros-Dancel scored 26 points to offset an outstanding effort from Anela Gonsalves-Tremaine in Pahala as the Trojans came back to win in overtime.
Gonsalves-Tremaine scored a season-high 32 points, but the Cougars let a nine-point lead after three quarters slip away – and likely the last of their playoff hopes with it.
Reishalyn Jara added 17 points for Ka’u (4-6), which will face Honokaa in the BIIF Division II semifinals on Jan. 25 at Konawaena.
Keaau (4-5) has lost twice this week by a combined three points – despite 52 points from Gonsalves-Tremaine – and will be eliminated from Division I playoff contention if Kealakehe (5-4) beats Kohala on Friday at home.
Konawaena 75, Honokaa 13: Kaliana Salazar-Harrell tallied 24 points and Caiyle Kaupu chipped in 20 in Kealakekua as the Wildcats bounced back from their first BIIF loss in almost 10 years.
If Waiakea (8-1) beats Keaau as expected Tuesday, the Wildcats (9-1) are destined to face Hilo in a BIIF Division I semifinal.
Kaena Tagabi led the Dragons (4-5) with eight points.
Honokaa’s losses clinched an automatic state berth for Kamehameha (6-4) in D-II.
Hilo 69, Kohala 7: The Vikings used balanced scoring in Kapaau to finish the regular season 9-1.
Asia Castillo, Veda Galima, Keirstyn Agonias and Jamila Collins-Ebanez scored 10 apiece for Hilo, which led 64-0 entering the fourth quarter.

Boys
Honokaa 63, Kealakehe 47: Tyler Fojas scored 14 points and Isaac Jardine had 13 as the host Dragons evened their record at 3-3.
Keison Falk had 11 for Honokaa and Chylou Nobriga Guerpo 10.
Waiakea 71, Ka’u 41: Four Warriors reached double figures in Pahala.
Kiai Apele scored 14 points, Keegan Scanlan and Will Soares each had 13 and Peter Suiaunoa had 12.
Shesley Martinez led the Trojans (3-6) with 12 points. Ka’u trailed 48-22 at the half.

Hawaii Prep 59, Pahoa 26: Kyana Brucelas scored 27 points in Waimea as Ka Makani got their second win – which might turn out to be enough to get into the Division II playoffs.
Mariah Borce added 16 for HPA (2-8), which will be the No. 4 seed in the semifinals unless Kohala (1-7) wins either Friday at Kealakehe or Tuesday at Honokaa. If the Cowgirls win once, there will be a play-in gam.
April Gamponia led the Daggers (0-10) with 10 points.

Honokaa 45, Keaau 43: Kaena Tagabi hit the go-ahead basket late and finished with 21 points to lift the host Dragons.
Anela Gonsalves-Tremaine scored 20 points for Keaau, missing a 3-pointer after the Cougars inbounded the ball with 3.5 seconds remaining.
Serenity Delos Santos scored 10 for Honokaa.
Boys
Hawaii Prep 66, Konawaena 50: Valentinas Ulinas scored 22 points and Matija Vitorovic added 17 in Waimea as Ka Makani made its move in the second half.
Ethan Neru scored 16 to lead the Wildcats (4-3), who have lost two in a row and are 3-3 against D-II teams this season.
HPA led 25-24 at halftime, but it increased its lead to nine after the third quarter and won going away.
Parker 48, St. Joseph 27: Conner Brown scored 24 points as the Bulls won at UHH gym.
