Malfunctioning ocean cleanup boom to arrive in Hilo today

A 2,000-foot U-shaped floating boom launched in September from San Francisco on Sept. 8 by a Dutch nonprofit organization with a mission to clean plastic waste from the ocean is scheduled to arrive today at Hilo Harbor.
