Head-on collision on Honolii Bridge
Police, firefighters and a tow truck respond to the scene of a two-vehicle head-on collision between a sport-utility vehicle and sedan that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in the Hilo-bound lane of Highway 19 on Honolii Bridge just north of Hilo. There were injuries in the collision, but no fatalities were reported as of late Thursday afternoon, police said. The collision snarled traffic in both directions.
