Michael “Mikey” John Barber, 52, of Hilo died Wednesday at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, he was a truck driver and volunteer firefighter. Visitation from 3-4 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Alanna Barber of Hilo; son, Marcus Barber of Hilo; brother, Fred (Lucia Luera) Barber of Alice, Texas; mother-in-law, Sharon Purbaugh of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. Dianne Faith Hill, 79, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 15. Born in Wisconsin, she worked in retail sales. Private services will be held. Survived by sons, Steve (Bernie) Hunter of West Chester, California, and Jeff (Jenny) Hunter of Avendale, Arizona; daughter, Janet Hunter of Kailua-Kona; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Mildred Miyoko Inouye, 86, of Captain Cook died Nov. 21 at Castle Adventist Hospital on Oahu. Born in Kealakekua, she was the proprietor of Mune’s Repair Shop. She also was a coffee farmer and a former member of the AJA Bowling League, Kona Bowling Association and Big Island Automotive Trade Association. Private services held. Survived by sons, Ray (Naomi) Inouye of Captain Cook, Roy (Jewel) Inouye of Minnesota and Gary (Frances) Inouye of Utah; daughters, Lora Nishomoto of Hilo and Lei (Wesley) Ching of Waipahu, Oahu; brothers, Walter Hiraishi of Kailua-Kona and Richard (Blanche) Hiraishi of Pearl City, Oahu; brother-in-law, Joe Herzig of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jane Ayano Jenkins, 92, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 14. Born in Kahaluu, she worked as a bank teller. Private services will be held. Calisto Mateo, 78, of Hilo died Dec. 15 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired painting contractor and served in the Hawaii Army National Guard. Graveside committal service at 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at Homelani Memorial Park with military honors.
