Public review of revisions to the state Department of Education’s student misconduct and discipline code, known as Chapter 19, as well as a new section titled Chapter 89 Civil Rights Policy and Complaint Procedures for Student Complaints Against Adults began this week on Oahu and Kauai.
Additional public review sessions are scheduled on Oahu, Maui and Hawaii Island throughout November.
Big Island sessions are planned for 5-7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Hilo High School and 5-7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Kealakehe High School.
Elsewhere in the state, sessions are planned for:
• 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Windward District Office in Kaneohe, Oahu.
• 5-7 p.m. Nov. 15, Aiea High School, Aiea, Oahu.
• 5-7 p.m. Nov. 16, Waipahu Intermediate School, Waipahu, Oahu.
• 5-7 p.m. Nov. 13, Maui Community School for Adults annex, Kahului.
• 4-5:30 p.m. Dec. 10, Hana High and Elementary School, Hana, Maui.
• 5-6:30 p.m. Lanai High and Elementary School, Lanai City.
• TBD, Kaunakakai School, Molokai.
The state Board of Education on Oct. 4 approved the revisions for public review.
