KAILUA-KONA — A North Kona resort employee died Tuesday after an accident on the property Monday afternoon.
According to police, the 43-year-old man was scuba diving in a fishpond on the grounds of Kukio Golf and Beach Club on the Kona Coast, when a coworker found him, authorities said. Maj. Robert Wagner with the Hawaii Police Department said the victim was unresponsive when police arrived shortly before 1 p.m. Monday and CPR was administered.
The Kukio employee was later transported to North Hawaii Community Hospital.
On Tuesday afternoon, Wagner reported that the employee died.
