The “citizens arrested and charged” section of the Tribune-Herald last was last published on Sept. 22.
According to the Hawaii Police Department, a changeover in the department’s computerized records management system has resulted in an inability to print the booking, incident and traffic logs.
The lack of those logs also affects the Tribune-Herald’s coverage of police and courts, as our reporters presently do not know who has been arrested or for what, what type of incidents have been reported to police, or where traffic collisions occurred, who were involved and if any injuries or fatalities occurred.
Police Chief Paul Ferreira told the Tribune-Herald earlier this week technicians are working on the issue and police hope to have it resolved soon. And the Tribune-Herald hopes to soon resume our usual coverage of police and courts, including the “citizens arrested and charged” section.
