Military units are scheduled to conduct various types of training at Pohakuloa Training Area in June that may be heard or observed by the surrounding communities, the Army said in a written statement today.
Training is scheduled during the following dates:
• Today-June 26: Hawaii Army National Guard, annual training; primarily small arms fire, with limited artillery training.
Convoys are scheduled during the following dates:
• Today, Convoys from Kawaihae Harbor to PTA, now through 7 p.m.
• Saturday, Convoys from Kawaihae Harbor to PTA at 8 a.m. and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
While sometimes loud, this training is critical to ensure that military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely, the Army said.
