The Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association, East Hawaii Region, Mamalahoe Chapter invites the public to its annual lei draping ceremony, or Ka ‘Ahulei O Kamehameha, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kamehameha the Great statue in the Hilo Bayfront area.
The Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association, East Hawaii Region, Mamalahoe Chapter invites the public to its annual lei draping ceremony, or Ka ‘Ahulei O Kamehameha, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kamehameha the Great statue in the Hilo Bayfront area.
The ceremony will begin with the Hawaii County Band, under the direction of Paul Arceo, playing a few selections, followed by the seating of the Royal Hawaiian Orders: Royal Order of Kamehameha I, ‘Ahahui O Ka’ahumanu Helu ‘Ekolu, Hale O Na Ali‘i O Hawaii and their ho‘okupu presentations.
The lineup for the ho‘okupu from organizations and the public will begin at about 5:30 p.m. The program continues until about 6 p.m.
