Mariano Carriaga Sr., 91, of Hilo died March 21 at home. Born in Kohala, he was a retired combustion control worker for Hawaii Electric Light Co., U.S. Army, original member of Apostles Motorcycle Club and member of Big Island Independents, G &K Ohana and Road Knights motorcycle clubs. Visitation 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday (April 21) at Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Hall. Celebration of life service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Ethel Carriaga of Hilo; sons, Mariano (Darlene) Carriaga Jr. of Hilo, Mark C. (Beverly) Carriaga of Kailua-Kona and Michael Carriaga-Pascual of Ocean View; daughters, Marie Elena (Dean) Rocha of Kailua-Kona and Mona Lisa Spalding of Hilo; hanai son, Benji (Heidi) Cariaga of Napoopoo; sister-in-law, Pat Macayan of Hilo; brother-in-law, Rally Tolentino of Waimea; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
