Tribune-Herald Athlete of the Week: Kamehameha’s Jameson Sato

RANDY DELA CRUZ photo Kamehameha goalkeeper Jameson Sato was selfless and solid on Oahu.

This honor could have gone to midfield maestro Tyler Waltjen, defensive backbone Justin Kenoi or HHSAA D-II Most Outstanding Player Jonathan DeMotta, but the pick is Kamehameha’s senior goalkeeper, both for his selflessness and stellar play.

Sato stepped down as Jake Toci shined in penalty kicks in the semifinals, but he was back in goal Saturday and made several key stops – one resulted in a bloody nose and provided Sato with a memorable moment – to help the Warriors claim their first HHSAA boys soccer championship.
