Police are seeking a 40-year-old man they say “should be considered armed and dangerous” who’s wanted for questioning in connection with a shot fired February 9 at a police officer in Puna.

Jayse Polaris Lee is also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for violating parole. He’s described as 5 foot 6 inches tall, 250 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, with a mustache and beard. He’s known to frequent the Makuu area.

Police think he’s lost weight since the mugshot photo.

The public is advised against approaching Lee, whom police believe may be in possession of a firearm.

Two other people wanted for questioning in the same attempted murder investigation, Angel L. Ano, 29, and Benjamin Manuel III, 35, were arrested without incident Wednesday. Both were booked on indictment warrants for an unrelated firearms charge and have court dates Feb. 20, and were released on $5,000 bail each.

Anyone with information on Lee’s whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
