Renovated bunkhouses at the Maunakea Recreation Area were blessed on Friday, Hawaii County announced.
The bunkhouses can accommodate 24 people each and cost $240 per night for Hawaii residents and $480 for nonresidents.
A one-time refundable security deposit of $250 is required.
The bunkhouses feature four rooms that are furnished with a folding table and chairs, a shower, toilet and lavatory. Users must bring their own bedding, food and personal supplies.
Access to the kitchen hall is included.
Lodging permits can be obtained via http://hawaiicounty.ehawaii.gov or at the Aupuni Center in Hilo.
