Caregivers invited
to Respite Fun Day
Hawaii Island Adult Care is hosting a Family Caregiver Respite Fun Day at 9 a.m. Jan. 20 at the center, 34 Rainbow Drive in Hilo.
Caregivers are invited to take a little break to meet like-minded family caregivers and other folks on the same caregiving path. The event is an opportunity to talk story with each other, share experiences and learn tools and solutions that might help with your family caregiving.
This month’s program features oral hygiene for elders. There also will be massages, therapeutic touch, a healthy continental brunch and art activity. Registration is $10; scholarships are available. To RSVP, contact Lizby Logsdon at 961-3747, ext. 101, or llogsdon@hawaiiislandadultcare.org.

The Hilo Community Chorus’ first rehearsal for spring 2018 will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo PB-8 Rehearsal Room, 200 W. Kawili St.
The program will include John Rutter’s “Requiem” and additional selections to be announced. The spring concert will be in conjunction with UH-Hilo University Chorus.
New singers are welcome. There is no audition and no previous choral experience is required. The only requirement is a commitment to attend Monday rehearsals each week and to practice one hour a week outside rehearsal if needed.
