Hilo Coast UCC candlelight service
Hilo Coast UCC in Honomu is hosting its seventh annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The public is invited to sing Christmas carols by candlelight in a beautifully decorated country chapel. There will be special music by church musicians and the choir.
Light refreshments will follow the service.
UCC special Christmas service
United Community Church in Hilo is hosting an all-music Christmas service beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday.
“Worship His Majesty in Music” features joyous Christmas carols, a moving candlelit “Silent Night” and much more.
The public is invited.
Guest artists include Mark Yamanaka, Michael Thomas, the Rev. Duckyong An and Misuk Seo An. Yamanaka will perform his original song, “There’s Something ‘Bout Christmas”
There also will be a Christmas Eve service with Pastor Paul Chan and members of the Chinese Christian Church of Hilo at 7 p.m., which will be in Mandarin and English.
