A large crowd once again turned out Dec. 9 for the 14th annual Keaau Village Lighted Christmas Parade.
The theme of this year’s parade was “A Paniolo Christmas.” Five judges scored the entrants on originality, spirit and attractiveness. The grand marshals leading the parade were Bill and Adella Walter followed by marching bands, floats, classic cars and big rigs all aglow.
Groups of carolers entertained the crowd along the route before the parade began. Santa Claus ended the parade with his many helpful elves from Keaau High School passing out treats to the keiki.
The parade was hosted by the Keaau Christmas Parade Committee with the help of many sponsors in the community. Anyone interested in being part of the team can call the WH Shipman Office at 966-9325.
