Police charged three people with drug offenses stemming from the service of two search warrants in Puna.
At about 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, officers and detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Opakapaka Street in Pahoa. Police say a search turned up crystal methamphetamine, a smoking pipe and other drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested 42-year-old Marissa Burcena and 34-year-old Paul Alisa, both of that address. Both were charged Thursday with two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and two counts of drug paraphernalia.
Both made their initial court appearances Friday.
Burcena was released on bail afterward. Alisa is being detained at Hawaii Community Correctional Center in lieu of $20,500 bail.
At about 10:05 a.m. Thursday, officers executed an unrelated search warrant at a home on Anuhea Street in Volcano, finding 1.2 grams of black tar heroin, a small amount of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Arrested was 50-year-old Charles Deguair of Volcano. He was charged Friday with three counts each of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia.
He’s being detained at the Hilo cellblock in lieu of $6,075 bail, with an initial court appearance scheduled for Monday.
