Arnold Bartolo Jose “BJ” Fernandez is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He might be driving a stolen white 2003 Toyota pickup with license plate HCZ 933.

Police say a 32-year-old Pahoa man reported that at about 6 p.m. Monday, he was driving on Government Beach Road near Pakaka Road in Pahoa when he encountered a Toyota pickup he recognized as previously reported stolen by a relative.
The suspect driving the stolen truck apparently saw the victim and reportedly fired a gunshot from the window before driving off toward Hawaiian Beaches. No injuries were reported.
According to court records, Fernandez is currently on four years probation for theft and unauthorized entry to a dwelling. He also currently is facing two counts each of second-degree burglary and driving a stolen vehicle, plus first-degree theft, accomplice to first-degree theft.
Anyone with information about Fernandez’s whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
