Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center’s “Tools to Transform Conflict” training series continues with a workshop from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 6 at the Hawai‘i Innovation Center at Hilo.
Mediator Diane Petropulos presents “Civility in the Workplace: Conflict Resolution and Managerial Mediation,” which has been offered on Maui for state agencies, health care entities and nonprofit organizations.
Participants will learn techniques and tools for immediate use in daily interactions.
“This training covers the financial costs of conflict, frustrating workplace behaviors, their consequences and how to use collaborative skills to lay the foundation for a civil organization,” Petropulos said.
Petropulos has offered mediation, facilitation and training services throughout Hawaii since 2001.
She is a former lecturer at the master’s level in the Human Resource Management Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has mediated hundreds of circuit, district and small-claims court cases for Maui Mediation Services, where she currently serves on its board of directors.
Tuition for the training is $75 and includes lunch (group discounts and partial scholarships available). To register, contact Jenifer Aveiro at 935-7844, ext. 1, or jenifer@hawaiimediation.org.
