The Vulcans beat Stanislaus State 6-3 on Sunday and then lost to Chico State to finish 3-3 at the West Regional test.
After Billi Derleth worked four innings in the opener, Cyanne Fernandez (3-1) pitched three innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit.
The Vulcans (25-16) rallied for five runs in the seventh, highlighted by Brittany Huff’s two-run triple. Brandi Wilson (2 for 4) and Danielle Pulido (2 for 4) each collected run-scoring singles in the seventh.
The search for a sweep ended against Chico as Danielle Wilson (10-8) allowed eight runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Haley Gilham allowed the Vulcans just two hits.

UC Irvine ripped Hawaii 14-4 on Sunday in Honolulu, preventing a sweep.
Alex Hatch didn’t record an out for the Rainbow Warriors (13-15, 2-1 Big West), giving up six runs.
Working his way back from an injury, Hilo graduate Chayce Ka’aua went 0 for 4 as the designated hitter.
