The performance: Russell made six 3-pointers against Point Loma on Saturday, but his final one was the biggest shot of the season for UH-Hilo.

The junior beat the buzzer in overtime as the Vulcans earned an 88-85 victory for their first victory of the season.

Russell finished with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

Heading into a five-game homestand, he’s third on the team averaging 14.3 points per game.
