Fire damages Ohai Street home

A fire damaged a home occupied by squatters Thursday morning.

Firefighters arrived at about 1:30 a.m. at 375 Ohai St. in Hilo and reported heavy smoke exiting a bedroom window.

Damage was contained to the bedroom and two uninjured females were evacuated. A male occupant left before units arrived, according to the Fire Department.
