HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu police have closed the right lane of westbound traffic on the H-1 freeway near the Makakilo off ramp while firefighters battle a brush fire.
Firefighters were battling the brush fire near the off ramp on Monday.
Then Honolulu Department of Emergency Management says Makakilo Community Park will be available as a shelter for anyone needing to evacuate their homes.
The American Red Cross Hawaii State Chapter will be supplying cots at the shelter.
The city says people should bring their own food, water, extra clothing, toiletries and other basic items with them.
