Charles Isami Kajikawa, 74, of Mountain View died Sunday at his residence. Born on Dec. 4, 1940, he was a retired civil engineer and member of the Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by brothers, Melvin (Marie) Kajikawa of Honolulu, Alton (Pam) Kajikawa of Kailua-Kona and Brian Kajikawa of Hilo; sisters, Alma Kajikawa of Honolulu and Evelyn (Wilbert) Lau of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Harry Kazumi Matsuoka, 75, of Hilo died April 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Jan. 16, 1940, in Hilo, he grew up in Amauulu Camp 1, was a custodian at Hilo High School, was on the Road Crew for Hilo Coast Processing and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Monday, May 11, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m., with inurnment to follow at Homelani Memorial Park Main Chapel. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by companion, Harriet Muntz of Hilo; son, Daryl Matsuoka of California; brother, Albert (Priscilla) Matsuoka of Waimea; sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Galdones of Pepeekeo and Nancy Corpuz of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
