Buddha gave 84,000 teachings to help people become free of suffering and attain peace of mind, which were then condensed into 21 meditations called Lamrim, which are easy to understand and put into practice and lead ultimately to lasting peace and happiness.
Volcano Art Center is offering a special opportunity to receive the entire cycle of these teachings, including an event from 4-5:45 p.m. Sunday at the VAC Niaulani campus, one block south of the post office in Volcano Village.
Sunday’s Lamrim teaching is about “Death and Impermanence.” The tantric meditation on death and the stages of dying also will be explored during this class. The class is free and open to everyone.
Class begins promptly. Dress warmly and bring a cushion if you like to sit on the floor. There also will be chairs and a sofa available for seating.
