David Karl, 64, of Pahoa died Aug. 17 at home. He retired from the business world, and became an accomplished stained glass artist, specializing in volcanic eruptions. Memorial service to be held at noon Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Ainaloa Longhouse. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to local AIDS foundation or hospice organization. Louis Clarence Saragosa, 64, of Volcano died Aug. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a veteran of the Army. Funeral services to be Friday, Sept. 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
