KAPOLEI, Oahu (AP) — Police say nothing dangerous was found during a search of a Kapolei office building after someone reported seeing a man with a gun.
Police spokeswoman Teresa Bell said a 911 call about 2 p.m. Tuesday reported a man with a gun inside a holster in the area.
She said after searching every floor of the James Campbell Building on Kamokila Boulevard, police determined there was no threat.
But Bell said police are still looking for the man to question him.
The building is in a busy area near state offices, a police station, a park and various businesses.
The search prompted a lockdown of the Kapolei Public Library. Temporary branch manager Liane Watanuki said the library was evacuated about 2:15 p.m., with about 20 staff members staying inside.
