Kiana Alejandaro-Cazimero hit a go-ahead three-run triple in the sixth inning Wednesday, and Kohala went on the road to beat Honokaa 11-9 to clinch a Big Island Interscholastic Federation softball playoff spot in Division II.
In the circle, Alejandaro-Cazimero overcame nine Cowgirls errors to pitch a complete game, walking only three with a strikeout.
After Alejandaro-Cazimero cleared the bases in the sixth to give her team a 9-8 lead, Denae Rivera drove her in with a triple.
Ryah Manning finished with two hits for Kohala.
Kayla Requelman started for the Dragons (2-5-1) and walked the first four batters she faced before giving way to Kaitlyn Agustin, who pitched seven innings and allowed seven hits and seven walks with six strikeouts to take the loss.
Sarah Sedillo and Jasmine Castro each had two hits for the Dragons.
Kohala’s victory ensures Konawaena a home doubleheader when the best-of-three BIIF semifinals begin April 19.

Hilo 7, Ka’u 1: Freshman Nick Antony pitched a complete with seven strikeouts at Wong Stadium, earning his third victory of the season.
Isaiah Banasan and Jalen Carvalho each went 2 for 4 for the Vikings (5-1-1) to back Antony, who didn’t walk a batter and yielded only four hits, including two to Chance Emmsley-Ah Yee.
Emmsley-Ah Yee pitched six innings for the Trojans (1-6), striking out two with a walk, and he scored his team’s run in the fifth.

Waiakea 12, Keaau 1: Caleb Freitas-Fields pitched four strong innings and drove in three runs in Keaau as the Warriors remained atop Division I.
Kodi Medeiros (2 for 3, three runs) and Nathan Minami (2 for 4) also finished with three RBIs for Waiakea (6-1). Freitas-Fields doubled in two runs in the first, Medeiros hit a run-scoring triple in the third and Minami fueled a six-run rally in the fourth with a two-run single.
Tyler Aburamen went 2 for 3 and Taylor Mondina was 2 for 3 with a double for the Warriors, who tuned up for a showdown against Hilo at 6 p.m. Friday at Wong Stadium.
Freitas-Field allowed an unearned run and five hits with six strikeouts, and then Calvin Uemura struck out the side in the fifth.
In four innings, losing pitcher Justin Quesada gave up 10 hits and 10 runs — six earned.
Keian Kanetani was 3 for 3 for the Cougars (1-6), scoring on Byron Cachola’s hit in the first.

Kamehameha 12, Pahoa 4: Micah Carter batted 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Chay Toson went 2 for 4 and scored two runs as the Warriors beat the Daggers at their field.
Jordan Hirae scored three runs, Kobi Candaroma also scored three runs and had two RBIs, and Daylen Calicadan had three RBIs for Kamehameha (5-1-1).
Alika Young pitched three innings of one-run, no-hit ball for the win. He walked two and struck out three. Kelii Montibon tossed an inning and allowed a run, and Kobie Kinzie pitched a scoreless inning wtih two strikeouts.
Troy Rasee went two innings in the loss. He gave up nine runs (five unearned) on six hits and three walks. Dathan Wong Chong pitched three innings of five-run relief (three unearned) on three hits and three walks.
Wong Chong and Zack Noll had the only hits for Pahoa (0-7).

Konawaena 11, Honokaa 1: Logan Canda hit a home run in Kealakekua and Jordan Miyahira-Young turned in another efficient outing on the mound as the Wildcats remained in the thick of the Division II race.
Shelton Grace hit a run-scoring triple and scored twice for Konawaena (5-2), and Koa Basque and Skye Suzuki also finished with two RBIs.
Miyahira-Young won his third BIIF start, needing only 60 pitches in a five-inning complete game. The senior right-hander allowed an unearned run on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts.
Canda went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, Zane Gray also scored twice to go along with a triple, and Basque ended the game with a two-run single to cap the Wildcats’ five-run fifth inning.
The Dragons dropped to 2-5.
