Today’s monthly session of the Human Rights/Sustainability Campus Community Dialogue will focus on Food is a Human Right. The discussion will focus on the latest legislative initiatives from Hawaii and Kauai regarding how our food is grown in the islands as well as the international implications. The forum will be at noon in UH-Hilo Media Services Room 359.
The monthly forum sponsored by United Nations Association USA Hawaii, the Hawaii Institute for Human Rights and Amnesty International Hawaii will feature local county council members, community advocates and university academics discussing the future of food in Hawaii. There will also be short documentary film examining the issue from a global perspective. This will be the final monthly session for 2013 and mark the fifth anniversary of the Human Rights/Sustainability Campus Community Dialogue across Hawaii incorporating technology to allow for dialogue in our democracy. The 2014 session will begin in January with a talk on participating in politics at the Hawaii State Legislature building on the special session engagement.
