A Hilo grand jury indicted two men on burglary and other charges and another man for felony theft last week in three unrelated cases.
The first of three indictments dated Nov. 6 accuses 20-year-old Isaak Janardo, also known as Isaac Janado of Hilo, with first-degree burglary, second-degree forgery, second-degree theft, second-degree identity theft and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred on Dec. 23, 2011, and police said they took place at 95 Keaa St. in Hilo’s Keaukaha neighborhood, which is the Hawaii Fire Department’s maintenance office.
The indictment states that Janardo stole and forged a $675 check and possessed and transmitted the personal information of the victim in the case.
First-degree burglary and second-degree identity theft are Class B felonies punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment. Second-degree forgery, second-degree theft, and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information are Class C felonies punishable by up to five years imprisonment.
The second indictment charges 19-year-old Dylan Colliado of Volcano with first-degree burglary and first-degree unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle.
The indictment states that both offenses occurred at an Ohialani Road address in Volcano between Dec. 26-29, 2011.
A bench warrant set Colliado’s bail at $7,000.
First-degree unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment.
And a third indictment charges 34-year-old Van M. Uemura Jr. of Hilo with second-degree theft.
The indictment states that Uemura exerted unauthorized control of property belonging to the insurance carrier AFLAC on April 23. Police said the stolen property was a laptop computer valued at $2,000.
A bench warrant set Uemura’s bail at $2,000.
