Police are seeking witnesses to a confrontation that allegedly occurred early Monday morning in Kalapana.
The victim, a 59-year-old Kalapana woman, told police she confronted occupants of a vehicle that was driving recklessly in front of a home on Kaliki Kai Street in Kalapana Seaview Estates subdivision at about 3 a.m. The woman was reportedly struck by propelled objects, which hit her in the arm and hand.
Fire Department rescue personnel treated her at the scene for her injuries.
Police have opened a first-degree terroristic threatening investigation and are asking anyone who has information about the vehicle or its occupants to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or to contact Detective Todd Pataray at 961-2382 or tpataray@co.hawaii.hi.us.
