Officials of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island (BGCBI) recently received a check from the Verizon Foundation for the Hilo Boys & Girls Club Aquaponics Program.
The presentation took place Oct. 18 at the BGCBI Club at 100 Kamakahonu St. in downtown Hilo.
The Aquaponics Program will be a component of the Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Gardening Project, which provides broad educational components and provides fresh healthy food for Hilo youth and the community.
