HONOLULU (AP) — A 35-year-old burglary suspect in Aiea who hit two police officers as he tried to flee in a pickup was shot and wounded by Honolulu police.
The man was stable but in serious condition at a hospital with wounds to his upper torso.
He faces charges of attempted murder, burglary and auto theft.
Police Maj. Richard Robinson said officers Tuesday afternoon were searching for the man and spotted him at 3:30 p.m.
He fled on a stolen motorcycle but crashed at Alvah Scott Elementary School.
The suspect ran to a house, struck a 68-year-old man and came out with keys to the man’s pickup.
Police said the suspect drove the truck in reverse and struck two officers.
