Daggers fundraiser for state volleyball
The Pahoa girls volleyball team fought past defending league champion Ka‘u on Saturday to qualify for the Hawaii High School Athletic Association state tournament for the first time since 1997.
The Daggers have another big fight on their hands. They need to raise at least $2,400 to attend the Division II state tournament, which will be held Oct. 29-Nov. 1 on Oahu.
The team’s parents will wave signs from 2 p.m. today in front of the school to raise awareness of their plight.
The team is selling $7 adobe plate tickets, and will hold a fundraising car wash from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Solid Rock Church on Pahoa Village Road.
For adobe plate tickets, email maxine.block@hotmail.com.
To make a donation, checks may be written to Pahoa High School girls volleyball, P.O. Box 492648, Keaau, HI 96749.
